Vortex

This is for the people still gluing the business together by hand. Here’s how we see the shift  and why Vortex is built the way it is.

01 — The landscape

Software is changing under everyone's feet.

A few things that are true right now:

SaaS is becoming SaaS + agents

Every tool is bolting on AI. Chat next to the same old product — not a new way to run the business.

Agents as glue

AI is becoming the connective tissue between tools — and between the tools and themselves. More layers. More fragility.

Standards won't sit still

Tooling and platforms keep shifting. Even developers can barely keep up. Everyone else is further behind.

SMBs get left behind

Regular people and small businesses don't have time to chase the stack. They need output — not another seat to learn.

And there's more. The list grows every quarter. The problem isn't one missing app. It's the whole way software is sold to people who just want to run a business.

02 — The vision

One platform that can actually drive a business.

Not every business will be a perfect fit — that claim is fake. But we also don't believe businesses should vibe-code bad software that never gets them what they truly need.

What they need is a full-scale service that makes them more productive — which means more money. That's the whole reason anyone hires or buys tools: to increase overall business output.

If what you're doing isn't improving that, that's a massive reason to choose Vortex. We built it from the ground up to make a business AI-native — not AI sprinkled on yesterday's tools.

03 — How we operate

Principles we actually use

Only enter markets we understand

If we can't feel the pain ourselves, we don't build for it. Depth beats breadth.

Prioritize what users call out for

We ship what people are clearly asking for — not what looks good on a roadmap.

Question every requirement

Even our own. No sacred specs. If it can't survive a hard why, it doesn't ship.

04 — Why these markets

SMBs and startups. All in.

The previous startup I founded, and the companies I worked for before that, put me inside how small businesses and early startups actually run. So I went all in on that market.

Small businesses

Owners wearing too many hats — still stuck as the integration layer between tools.

Early startups

Teams that can't afford a seat for every department, and shouldn't need one.

The operating stack

Sales, contracts, books, cash, payments — rebuild the work of running the business as one system.

05 — Team

One founder.

I went solo because things are moving too fast for anything else. Running Vortex on itself — the same product growing the company — has beaten every hire so far. Until that changes, it’s just me. You’ll find me in coffee shops around NYC, meeting builders.
